In the beginning Tall Taurus Media and DVGear were seperate entities until one day in 2006, Mike Stimmel, former owner of DVGear, and Jonathan Holbrook, Creative Director of Tall Taurus Media, got together and made a deal. Mr. Stimmel made an offer Holbrook couldn’t refuse resulting in Holbrook aquiring DVGear.
Since 1998, DVGear has been integrating PC editing workstations and digital signage solutions. Holbrook, being a creative in video production and digital filmmaking, saw the potential. Especially with NewTek’s TriCaster and the wonders of Digital Signage. After several months of aquiring DVGear, Holbrook sat down with chief systems engineer, Hung Hoang, and made a game plan. Not only will DVGear be an authorized reseller for several media products but will also become a service provider using what is available to them.

With the six camera switching and streaming capabilities of the TriCaster, why only sell the genius box when DVG can also provide a full rental service with operators to help companies stream their seminars and events.
Dynamic Digital Signage
With several demos lying around waiting for people to see them, Holbrook was frustrated knowing these products can be put to use. With his creative skills and the technology in front of him, he and Hoang decided to add digital signage integration and content creation/management services to their arsenal. “There are several digital signage companies who do one or the other,” states Jonathan, “Some companies sell the software or do the full integrations and other do only content, leaving the client pulling their hair out wondering who to call for one or the other. What’s unique about DVGear, we are a one-stop source from concept to delivery. We even provide training and support for the end user. Everything is done under the same roof. There are not too many digital signage firms who do what we do.”
To summarize, Tall Taurus Media is “content creation” and DVGear is “technology integration”. With both divisions performing under the same roof, makes them a competitive player in the multimedia field.
“Techno-Media is a better term for Tall Taurus Media and DVGear,” smiles Jonathan.
