Greetings DV Gearians-
In the new age of affordable and tapeless technology, in addition to our PC video editing systems, we at DVGear have decided to focus strongly on video production using DSLR’s. As some of you know, the technology is becoming more compact and “film-like”. I admittedly was skeptical to shoot video with a DSLR, considering I’ve been using tape since the day of 3/4 and 1/2 inch analog.
I gave in and bought a Canon T2i after watching video reviews and gave it a try. I can tell you, I have not turned back. I myself am an independent filmmaker and love the look of depth of focus. These cameras have so many ISO, Aperture and lens options — plus can shoot up to a flawless 1080p h.264 that is record onto an SD card. I then pop the card into a card reader and drop it into my editing workstation’s A/V Storage. After doing this, it took me 30 seconds to decide to put my Canon XHA1 and XL1 on eBay. My production company is now 100% tapeless. Take a look at new products involving HDSLR production equipment, including digital sound recorders, Canon DSLR’s and our new DVG Rig Kits with follow focus and matte boxes. I can tell you, tape is going away. It’s time to drink the Kool-Aid and join the DSLR Revolution.
